Tuesday, October 24, 2017

I. Students arrive to upbeat music
(Students will seat on the stands as they will be marked off by grade sections with teachers around them).

(Student council officers from both campuses will be on the field with me and Father Martinez for prayer, and principals for a pep talk).

II.  Welcome by Nieves Frazier

III. Prayer by Father Martinez

IV.  Background of Red Ribbon Week: St. JP II Student council president, Shania Esquivel and BGMPS student council president

V. A group of five students from each class (6-12) will represent their grade with this competition. The winners receive a red bag with prizes. ( I will explain the rules - students should already be chosen previously)

Hula Hoop Teamwork - This can be used as a great team building activity — or with two teams competing. Explain that the hula hoop must not touch the ground, nor can the circle of hands be broken. The person on one end of the line then places a hula hoop on a teammate’s shoulder and the group joins hands to form a circle. Each person must maneuver through the hula hoop without letting it touch the ground to move around the circle until it reaches the beginning again. (Band keeps a beat going)

VI. Cheer leaders from JPII  and BGMPS chant with signs, "Drug" and "Free"  When cheerleaders say, I choose to be, Audience responds... Drug..Free

VII.  Cheer leaders from both St. JPII and BGMPS dance or chant

VIII. Frisbee throw into laundry baskets. Six students will be throwing frisbees according to their designated color. The grade with the most baskets wins. Winners get a red ribbon prize. ( Band can play stand music)

IX.  Drill team dance

X. Pep talk from Mr. Gonzalez and Mr. Brannigan

XI.  Six Teacher competition. One to represent each grade.  Teachers will play musical chairs.

XII.  Class competition for red spirit stick!!! It will be filled with red lollipops and can be distributed at the school.

XIII.  Closing remarks and exit with Fight Song!
