Retakes for Underclassmen and Seniors will be Wednesday, Oct. 17th. All students must be in Mass uniform. Senior ladies please bring a tank top to wear under the drape.

YEARBOOK

Starting Oct. 8th yearbooks will be $45. So be sure to bring cash/check tomorrow for the lower rate of $40. A jean day pass will be given to the first 40 people to purchase a yearbook, and their names will be entered into a drawing for a $10 gift card. There will be 3 winners so don’t wait to buy your book of high school memories!

Walk for Life

 


PSAT/NMSQT

The national administration of the PSAT/NMSQT is scheduled at our school on Wednesday, October 10th. Juniors and Sophomores who are interested may register with Mr. Ted Garcia through Monday, October 8th. The registration fee is $16.

Blood Drive

Our school will host a campus blood drive for the Coastal Bend Blood Center on Monday, October 8th, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Students who weight at least 115 pounds and are at 17 years old may donate blood. Senior who donate a minimum of 3 times during the school year are recognized as High School Red Cord Heroes and receive a red cord for graduation. Plus, they are eligible for annual prize drawings.


Health Careers

The St. John Paul II High School Health Careers Club will participate in the Driscoll Children's Hospital Career Day on Wednesday, October 10th.


Solidarity Hours

Students who want to earn Solidarity hours in helping to build a wheelchair ramp for an individual in need may see Mr. Ted Garcia. The wheelchair ramp project is scheduled for a family in Flour Bluff on Saturday, October 13th.

HOMECOMING
The week of the October 19th Football Game Vs Brownsville St. Joseph will be Homecoming. This will also be Senior night .

Homecoming Dance Oct 20, 8PM-11PM( take 2)!

TAPPS Math and Science Competitions

Please come by Mrs. Lee Sang's room if you are interested.  We will start practicing at the beginning of the 2nd quarter.


Robotics
A big thank you to the Robotics Crew who have worked diligently to organize the Robotics Room.  If anyone has a spare table or two or some stand alone utility shelves that they would consider donating to the Robotics Crew that would be much appreciated.  This would assist us in providing workspace for the creation of this year's robotic contenders. Meetings will continue on Tuesdays from 4-5 pm for the month of September.  Please email Ms. Garcia at cgarcia3@jpiihighschool.org if you have any questions, concerns, or comments.
